Hot Spring Episode. It surely follows the pattern of a typical rom-com anime. Still, the narrative gives us quite a laugh. The fan service is done right here. While the pace seemed fast, the flow and animation felt perky. It perfectly foreshadows the next episode.

The school camping trip begins, and we already have some romantic tension. An unexpected problem comes up that shows Futaro's responsible side. And of course, the quintuplets join in with helping him overcome this problem. Wholesome interactions carry this episode.

Episode Context

Arriving at the three-quarter mark of the season, episode 9 launches the 'Legend of Fate' arc, a multi-episode camping trip sequence that follows the revelations from 'The Photo That Started It All' in episode 8. This is the beginning of the season's final stretch, establishing relationship dynamics and thematic threads that will escalate through 'Legend of Fate Day 2' and 'Day 3' in episodes 10 and 11 before the season finale. It's a clear pivot point where the show transitions from building its ensemble to stress-testing the bonds between Futaro and each of the Nakano sisters.
