Well, this episode was pretty good. The story had a very creepy and emotional vibe. At least now we know where Mikado got that ability from through his mother’s backstory. It wasn’t boring at all it managed to keep my attention and made me want to continue following the series because I’m curious about what will unfold next.

This episode is awesome, seeing Mikado interact with his mother during the flashback was incredibly moving, especially since it contrast so well with the eerie atmosphere of his kidnapping

Episode Context

Midseason pivot. Episode 5 pulls back from the immediate supernatural threats and turns inward, examining the fractured histories that drive Mikado and Hiyakawa's uneasy partnership. Their contrasting worldviews, Mikado's reluctant sensitivity versus Hiyakawa's calculated detachment, generate real tension here, and the pacing deliberately slows to let that friction breathe. The introduction of Erika brings a new enigmatic energy that complicates the existing dynamic without overwhelming it. Expect psychological drama over spectacle: this is an episode built on loaded silences, guarded revelations, and the creeping sense that understanding someone's past doesn't necessarily make them safer to be around. The horror elements remain atmospheric rather than visceral, leaning into dread and ambiguity. A character-driven chapter that rewards patience and attention to the subtle BL undertones woven through every interaction.
