This episode somewhat sets up what is to come for this season's episodes. Got to explore more on the main characters' personalities and how they work together. There's a perfect balance of comedy and mellowness that makes the episode work.
I liked how this could've easily turned into another "monster of the week" episode but instead gave the yokai an actual problem worth caring about. The show keeps reminding you that not every creepy creature is evil. Ashiya slowly earning confidence is also really satisfying to watch.
The story really hooked me in. It takes a typical high school setup but blends yokai, and the writing just works. It’s funny and doesn't rush anything. It leaves you with the coziest feeling. Also, the art is gorgeous.
