I swear it was funnier in the novel. And bro! The animation did not really disappoint. The effects, the different colors, and the tension was on the top. The end was a cliffhanger tho but it definitely sets the mood for the next episode.

Episode Context

Episode 5 sits near the season's midpoint, deepening the Yi City investigation that began when 'Getting Drunk' steered Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji toward the cursed city and its secrets. This installment layers new questions and a key enigmatic character onto the central mystery, functioning as the connective tissue between the arc's setup and its escalation. It directly feeds into 'The Venerated Triad,' where the cultivation world's broader political and supernatural complexities are expected to intensify.
