The storyline started cliché like a war between humans and witches due to humans being greedy (actually timid). It feels good to see the male character become the "villain". It was a fast-paced story for me. Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to seeing the next episode.

This was a very strong first episode. I really like the impression it left on me. I like how they set up the lore and the world without over explaining. The pacing here was great, the combination of the action with the world building made me focused on the show. Even the visual direction is good, and the character writing was impressive.

Episode Context

As the first of twelve episodes, this premiere lays the essential groundwork for the entire season, the witch-versus-empire conflict, the bond between Chloe and Adonis, and the catalytic events that drive the narrative forward. Everything established here feeds directly into Adonis's trajectory of revenge and resistance against the Redia Empire across the remaining episodes. Consider this the emotional foundation the rest of the season will build on and, at times, burn down.
