It's interesting seeing the plot of Ghost in the Shell 2 (the movie) told in 30 minutes.

I was not expecting this show to suddenly go full body horror, that feral robot eating someone in the alley genuinely caught me off guard

This pivot reinforces the series' recurring preoccupation with the blurred boundary between human agency and machine behavior, themes that feed back into the Puppet Master arc as it develops.
