Synopsis

As a full-body cyborg and lead officer of Public Security Section 9, Motoko Kusanagi handles cybercrime in a near-future Japan where people swap out body parts like phone upgrades. When a mysterious hacker called the Puppet Master starts ghost-hacking civilians, basically rewriting their memories and puppeting them into doing things they'd never do, Kusanagi and her team get pulled into a case that goes way deeper than standard cyber-terrorism. The real hook here isn't just the action, though there's plenty of it.
