EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off the disturbing revelations of Episode 3, this fourth entry expands the playing field by introducing the first diary owner who isn't immediately positioned as a straightforward antagonist, complicating the alliance dynamics between Yukiteru and Yuno. Still firmly in the early stretch of a 26-episode run, the episode establishes the pattern of encountering new diary holders that will drive much of the series' structure going forward. It plants seeds of conflict and manipulation that become critical in the episodes immediately following.
