okay so the folklore elements are doing a lot of heavy lifting here and the mystery keeps layering itself ngl. the yukiyasha legend bleeds into the actual crime in fascinating ways and kindaichi is clearly in his element. must watch dont skip this one the atmosphere is carrying hard dude fr.

The story takes place on an island called Renkin, which translates to "Alchemy" in English. The story features a classic "trapped in a remote location" murder mystery. This episode features both Miyuki and Reika alongside Kindaichi and as usual, there are a few moments where the two spark jealousy over him. There are a few scenes where the artwork suddenly looks inconsistent, and the animation feels noticeably underwhelming. While I understand that the series prioritizes its storytelling over visuals, it would have been nice to see more effort put into the art and animation to maintain a consistent quality throughout the episode. The soundtrack does a good job of setting the mood, especially during the more suspenseful scenes.

Another interesting case again. I got suspicious with the AD but the heck is going on here? It intrigued me and really piqued my interest. Kindaichi is really onto something every time and it's kinda funny to see Nanase here. The end makes me think of possible hints in this case.
