yo kindaichi is back and this train setting goes hard immediately. a good energy from the very first scene and the mystery setup is already super clever. zero time wasted getting you hooked. must watch dont even think about skipping the first episode this sets everything up dude fr.
As the title indicates, the setting has been moved to Hong Kong. Although this observation isn't directly related to the case itself, the visual presentation feels inconsistent. The setting evokes a strong 90s atmosphere but the modern fashion and smartphones create a noticeable contrast. Whether deliberate or not, I found the contrast distracting. The character designs haven't changed much from the original, though they have been updated with a more modern look.
The OP and ED were good, I liked it and had me nodding my head. Nanase is so me, I'm not gonna waste any opportunities coming along my way like fr. Anyway, the build up was great. I like the mystery and the story behind it. It was kinda realistic coz I heard about something like that irl. Also, I'd like to see more of Kindaichi and the end was such a cliffhanger.
