EPISODE REVIEWS

There was a lot unpacked here explaining our new character's backstory and I'm glad it was handled with such care instead of just some random info dump about who our character is. There was a mix of emotions here as the episode somewhat ended on a lighter, more celebratory atmosphere compared to the reveal early on. The pacing was somewhat mid but it's okay since this episode felt like a transition ep.

It's a fun, action packed adventure that focuses on Saito and Louise as a team, even if they're not technically bound anymore. The villagers are a classic people in need trope, and the thugs are cartoonishly evil, but that's exactly the kind of setup that works for The Familiar of Zero. It gives Saito and Louise a chance to be heroes and lets the audience see their dynamic in action.
