This episode hit hard emotionally 😢 The quiet grief of the Ebisugawa family was portrayed so well. Tousen's past and her marriage into the family added so much depth. The reveal of Kaisei's "secret" was handled with the show's signature subtlety.

The tension in this episode was palpable 🚂 Yasaburo being trapped in that banquet was so stressful. Seeing the Friday Club up close is always chilling. The bath scene had an oddly calm, unsettling beauty. The power dynamics among the tengu are getting complicated.

The exploration of "Hell" was beautifully surreal 😈 The visuals of the demon world were haunting and gorgeous. Yasaburo's curiosity is going to get him into serious trouble. The confrontation with the Friday Club has been building all season.

The festival episodes are always chaotic fun 🎆 Gyokuran fitting into the family dynamic is great to watch. Akadama's blunt personality stealing the show was hilarious. The aerial clash was visually stunning. Nidaime's appearance at the end added real weight to the conflict.

The tanuki shogi tournament was such a delight 🎲 Watching Yajiro, who learned from their father, step into the spotlight was sweet. The community coming together around this game is pure Kyoto magic. Also, the fireflies during the night scenes were breathtaking.

The family dynamic is the heart of this show 😢 Watching Tousen's nostalgia as she visited her mother-in-law was so touching. The medicine for Yajiro feels like a long shot. The atmosphere is gentle but laced with melancholy. Another beautiful entry.

The surrealism is in full force here 🍜 The mysterious ramen stand and its conjurer owner added such a strange, wonderful flavor to the episode. Yasaburo getting roped into helping is always fun. The calm, magical chaos of Kyoto is unmatched.

The return to Kyoto's magical underbelly was everything I wanted 🌸 P.A. Works' backgrounds are stunning as always. Yasaburo's easygoing charm is back. The dynamic with Akadama-sensei is heartwarming. Nidaime's arrival shook things up in the best way.

Just like last season, they managed to wrap up and resolve everything beautifully. It felt like time went by so quickly because I was so engrossed in the characters and their lives. It's just as good as the last one. The Nidaime's fight was a little bit underwhelming but it's not without any meaning. And the final discussion between Yasaburou and Kaisei was icing on the cake. I'm truly gonna miss this show.

Holy moly, what a twist of events and what a wild ride that episode was. We already knew something was up but the way it all unfolded was simply splendid and unexpected. It took the Nidaime so long to make the story turn but finally seeing it was so satisfying. Kureichirou was about to get away with it..

Yajirou's little adventure to go meet the other clan was great. I can't believe both that interaction and the one at the end were left as cliff-hangers. With only 2 episodes to go, things are gonna ramp up to get resolved. The show has been really great so far in terms of narrative amongst the families.

I got so used to seeing Yajirou as a frog that seeing him back as a human was quite sudden. But as for the observer business, Yasaburou did his classic shenanigans to make it all the more entertaining. I'm so glad there is another clash between Benten and the Nidaime because that has been pretty exciting so far.

Best episode so far for sure. The families getting together, everyone having a talk and seeing progress with Kaisei. Just that final moment itself was so heart warming - its impact is good because it was so unexpected and there were so many talks of marriage going around with this brother and others. This is perfect.

I was enjoying the farce of the banquet until it turned pretty sad at the end. Yasaburou played a great role there only for it to backfire massively. Al for some Tanuki hot pot. At the very least, I enjoyed the antics that were presented, almost like a show. Definitely the highlight of the episode.

This was straight up just an insane side quest in the middle of the main mission. Yasaburou fit in so perfectly that he actually could've just stayed there. Looks like this is the start to solving something fishy that's going on with his uncle. Can't wait for the next one already.

Pretty good episode. Damn, those twins really are annoying. They just keep showing up all the time and causing problems. What a wreck of a festival. But what sealed the deal was Benten showing up. You know her showing up means there's gonna be another set of problems - and they keep saying it's Tanuki who cause problems!
