Episode Context

Coming off 'Fetters,' where public awareness of the beast phenomenon escalated dramatically, 'Corpses' raises the personal stakes by forcing Jun to confront enemies from her past, a narrative move that deepens the series' final stretch. Positioned at episode 20 of 26, this is firmly in the late-game escalation phase, tightening the screws before the endgame. It directly sets up 'Signs,' which broadens the focus to society's desperate response to the growing beast crisis.
