Synopsis

Feared across the entirety of a fantasy world as the Demon Lord himself, Satan gets defeated by the hero and flees to modern-day Tokyo. His grand plan for survival? Getting a part-time job at a fast-food joint. That's the setup for this second season, and it only gets more absurd from there. Sadao Maou, as he's now known, is genuinely trying to climb the corporate ladder at MgRonald's while his former general Ashiya obsesses over grocery budgets and coupon clipping. Meanwhile, the hero Emi Yusa, the very person who drove him out of Ente Isla, is stuck in Tokyo too, working a call center job and struggling with the fact that her sworn enemy is actually kind of a decent guy. Season 2, a 12-episode TV series from Studio 3Hz, picks up right where things left off, leaning harder into the domestic comedy and the weird found-family dynamic forming around these former enemies. There's a baby involved now, new characters from Ente Isla showing up, and the comedy stays grounded in the contrast between who these people were and who they're becoming. The tone is mostly comedic, with supernatural stuff simmering underneath. If you liked the fish-out-of-water comedy in Noragami or the demon-lord-in-the-real-world vibe of Blood Lad, this scratches a similar itch. It's comfort food anime, low stakes, funny characters, and a premise that never stops being entertaining.
