Charlie’s journey feels intense and suspenseful, but...they rushed the Lippman scenes, which could have been explained a bit more in detail. But all in all, great episode

The animation and action sequences are top-notch. Combined with the suspense of the rescue mission, it makes Episode 10 feel like a turning point in the story. Although quite slow, I'm just going to think of it as slow burn

I loved the focus on character dynamics here. Even without knowing every secret, the interactions and the way each character reacts to the situation makes the episode incredibly gripping. But yeah, something was missing because they rushed some scenes a bit

they really compressed the entire Lippman fight and Rivera's exposition from the manga into like 5 minutes, anime-onlies are barely getting half the context for Dr Grossmann's motivations sigh

Actually, given the whole 'humanzee' premise, this episode is refreshingly free from needing historical accuracy checks, which is a nice break from period dramas. Still, the ideological confrontation felt a bit… ahistorical in its presentation, if that makes sense? Mid, I guess. 🙄

all the intense talking and action kinda kept my ears busy, not much room for sleepy-time sounds 😴 just a neutral one for me.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the intense, survival-driven pressure of "Bluebeard's Castle" in Episode 9, this installment pivots to reveal the deeper ideological machinery driving the ALA's extremism — contextualizing the violence that preceded it. Sitting at episode 10 of 13, it functions as a critical philosophical fulcrum for the final act, laying the intellectual groundwork before the narrative shifts toward the legal and institutional power struggles of "Transfer of Ownership" in Episode 11.
