Shibazaki was brilliant in this episode. I hate riddles and so I dont expect my self solving it but this man was smart and it is an understatement. Lot of world building thru characters history as well.

This ep is amazingly crafted, it shows the two side of the coin. I love the metaphor in the dialogue, and how the riddle was carefully cut and constructed to match the Japanese context. I love the clean yet messy, but satisfying animation. This is gonna be the battle of brains.

Episode Context

Picking up after 'Call & Response' established Sphinx's public challenge to Tokyo, this third episode deepens the intellectual duel and transforms Shibazaki from a peripheral figure into a central player in the cat-and-mouse dynamic. At roughly the quarter mark of this tight 11-episode run, it solidifies the core conflict and character motivations that will drive the series forward. It directly sets the stage for episode 4, 'Break Through,' where the escalating tension between both sides reaches a new threshold.
