This episode really strengthens Seina's character by challenging his priorities, leading to a surprising development. On top of the fascinating setting and good humor, this has to be the episode I liked best so far.
Lady Seto makes her entrance and instantly elevates the whole episode. the Devil Princess of Jurai is one of those characters who walks into a scene and immediately you understand why she has a fearsome reputation — graceful, sharp, terrifyingly perceptive and operating on a level of strategy everyone else is too slow to follow. her intervention saving Seina and his party from the pirates is handled with style. the Tenchi Muyo! universe lore starts becoming more present here and for fans of the original OVA it's a genuine treat. Seina's bewilderment at the scale of the world he's stumbled into continues to be charming.
The episode did progress well, but it didn't take long to become boring again after the middle. It was a slow burn, not much interesting happened, and the comedic parts felt forced and made us cringe a little. It's gonna make it hard not to fall asleep
