EPISODE REVIEWS

Symphogear comes back in a high octave! Even though it is only 3 months in story after the end of season 1, the show comes back with a lot of changes, new characters, new threats, new mysteries but still with really good songs and, in my opinion a good improve in the animation.

what a way to open a second season. three months after the events of season 1 and things seem relatively stable — Hibiki and Chris are working together smoothly, Tsubasa is performing a joint concert with foreign superstar Maria Cadenzavna Eve, and life has some semblance of normalcy. and then Maria summons Noise in the middle of her own concert, holds the audience hostage through a worldwide broadcast that prevents Tsubasa from using her Symphogear without harming the crowd, and declares herself and her allies the successors of Finé. the Black Gungnir reveal is a genuinely great moment — the visual of dark armor mirroring Hibiki's is immediately striking and the implications hit hard. Dr. Ver also makes his first appearance and from the very first second he opens his mouth you know exactly what kind of unhinged energy this season is going to operate on. explosive and confident premiere.

I guess if I were to sum up this episode in all its entirety into one word it would be purely unabashedly "sexy"! Love the camera angles they were integral to the plot without them I story would have suffered drastically. Chris is my favorite character she is superior to all others. She is the epitome of the rule of cool don't mind her abilities being impractical its the cool factor that carries it.
