This episode was slower but the effects were the same. It seems that time is passing quite fast as this episode is 3 years later. We will find out more about what's harassing the villagers at night later.

Episode Context

Following the Nihonbashi incident that defined the first two episodes, Episode 3 relocates to a new setting and introduces a fresh two-part storyline centered on mysterious killings, signaling the show's case-of-the-arc structure. This is early in a 24-episode run, establishing how Jinya operates as a demon slayer beyond his origin story. Episode 4 will deliver the second half of this arc, so expect this installment to prioritize buildup over payoff.
