Honestly, this was a beautiful episode! I love that we got to hear Jinya's true thoughts and see his own process of grieving. Though I did not expect him to pull that move.

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 15's encounter with the cursed sword Yatonomori Kaneomi, Episode 16 pivots to a fresh investigation that introduces the enigmatic fox demon Yunagi, a character poised to factor into later developments. Positioned at the two-thirds point of this 24-episode run, the episode deepens the series' central thesis about the complicated nature of demons and their entanglements with humanity, laying thematic groundwork for the final act.
