Before watching this, you should watch Alicization first, because the first episode might confuse you. The lore is limited and is connected to Alicization. I'm just a bit sad about what happened to Alice. Much more on what happened to Kirito. The ending song is so good. A mystery cliffhanger.

The episode has a great job recalling what happened last season with great pacing, beautiful animation, and drama with gripping cliffhangers. It does a solid job of world building and story telling. First episode should not be skipped
