this first episode is so much fun and so pretty looking. Kokona really wants to be a star but she's having trouble. The audition scene is great and the girls have these crazy magic acting powers. I really like the main pairing.

Hmm, I've got a lot to say about this anime after my first watch.

First of all, Lerche absolutely nailed the animation. They knew exactly when to go all out with incredibly fluid animation and when to keep things at a standard level. That balance is essential for a theater anime like this, making the performances feel special without wasting effort on every single scene.

Second, the story is genuinely interesting. The "power" system isn't really a supernatural power at all. It reminds me of Blue Lock's "Flow", where it's more of a heightened mental state than actual magic. We've seen similar concepts in other anime too, like AKB0048 with the "Kirara". As long as it fits the world and makes sense, I'm totally fine with it.

Another thing I really like is Kokona herself as the MC. This is the first time I've watched a performance based (similiar to idol) anime where the MC genuinely doubts herself instead of being endlessly energetic and confident like most idol protagonists. She still has dreams and determination, but her insecurities make her feel much more human. I think that's going to make her character development even more rewarding as time passed.

Not a single doubt, this is shaping up to be something special. Come w me soldier, we gotta protecc our girl to be Warudo Dai Sta-!!

a good start episode with a good animation and voice acting properly showcasing the drama on stage. the episode also ends with a little bit mystery at the end
