The refocus on Feyris in this episode reminded me how big the world was and how wholesome the earlier episodes were before THAT episode. It was pretty underwhelming in comparison, but the revelation that one can remember their past world line is shocking to me, this will probably mean more in future plot points.

Rintaro's interests ad mission is shifted yet again with the help of Kurisu. Telling her feels like the best choice in every time leap! Their new solution feels solid, but there's an underlying ominous vibe. What happens if none of them change Mayuri's fate???

Watching Feyris and Okabe's running sequence took me out acl, it felt so unnecessary but it gave me a good laugh lolz

The last mission, to undo the D-mails in hope to find the IBM 5100 again. But can it be that easy? With each lab member having their own reasons to change the past, would they be willing to do it again? Hard to say, but unfortunately for Okabe, he has no other choice but to try.

Probably someone knew where the IBN was because the timeline had been altered, which caused it to disappear from the shrine. Reversing Faris D-Mail would mean bringing back the original timeline where her father died, which is really sad. But Moe town is more dope I guess haha

What a heartbreaking episode. Weighing the lives of two important people is an impossible choice for Okarin and Faris to make. I'm genuinely impressed at how their intertwining stories are handled overall, and how each account never feels less than the others already revealed.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 17 continues the critical reversal arc that defines Steins;Gate's back half, following the devastating consequences established in 'Sacrificial Necrosis' as Okabe systematically undoes each D-Mail to restore the original worldline. This installment centers on Faris's contribution to that chain, deepening the personal toll of each reversal. It directly sets up 'Fractal Androgynous,' as Okabe moves closer to confronting the remaining alterations with increasingly difficult emotional stakes.
