A paraplegic ex-jockey with nothing left to lose, Johnny Joestar is a man who has hit rock bottom. This ONA from David Production adapts Part 7 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and it's widely considered the peak of the entire series. The setting shifts to an alternate universe American frontier, which means you don't need any prior JoJo knowledge to jump in. The central dynamic between Johnny and Gyro is genuinely one of the best duos in manga; their chemistry carries even the quieter stretches. The 'Spin' power system replaces Stands (mostly) and feels fresh, grounded in geometry and physics before going completely off the rails in the best way. The art direction blends Western grit with surreal, almost painterly visuals, and the tone walks this tightrope between mysterious conspiracy thriller and strange buddy road trip. If you liked the strategic depth of Hunter x Hunter's fights, the emotional weight of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, or the slow-burn revelations of Attack on Titan, this hits similar notes while feeling entirely its own thing. A seinen-targeted JoJo with real teeth.

Great start for this new part! A little slow for my personal taste but it still does a great job on introducing the setting and all the main characters.
COME ON THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVER. oh my god the climax and the instrumental pairing together as everyone's running for the finish line??? AMAZING. it's so annoying how netflix paced this part i actually hate them so bad

A really good introductory episode, bizarre and weird as always. I have high expectations for this new season. I didn't expect Gyro Zeppeli to be so brusque with Johnny, but it's understandable given their lack of closeness. I have faith in Johnny.

Johnny's reaction to getting his legs back, even for a moment, was so powerful. You really feel his desperation and his new purpose after meeting Gyro.
I loved the extended episode length. It really let the first stage breathe and build up the excitement for the race.
