JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)
Oshimeter
Synopsis
In 1880s England, a kind-hearted nobleman named Jonathan Joestar sees his life completely derailed when his father adopts Dio Brando, a kid from the gutter with zero gratitude and an all-consuming need to destroy everything Jonathan has. What starts as a toxic sibling rivalry escalates in ways you genuinely won't predict: we're talking ancient stone masks, vampire transformations, and a mystical breathing technique called Hamon that lets people channel sunlight through their fists. This 26-episode TV series covers the first two arcs of Hirohiko Araki's long-running manga, and the tonal shift between them is wild. The first arc is gothic horror melodrama set in Victorian England; the second jumps to 1930s America and Mexico with a completely different protagonist and a far goofier energy. David Production's 2012 adaptation nails the source material's exaggerated art style: characters pose like Renaissance sculptures mid-battle, colors shift dramatically during fights, and the soundtrack mixes rock references with orchestral bombast in a way that just works. If you liked the dark period-piece atmosphere of Hellsing or the over-the-top machismo of Fist of the North Star, this hits a similar frequency. Fans of Berserk's rivalry dynamics will also find something to latch onto with Jonathan and Dio. Fair warning: the first few episodes lean heavily into melodrama before the supernatural elements fully kick in. Stick with it; the payoff is earned.

Kono dio da
I was gonna say I wouldn't stand around Joseph cause of his french kiss line, but after what Straizo was doing I think Joseph's charms have won me back. I can't believe Speedwagon of all people has lasted so long. This pillar man thing is so creepy and I hope we see the boy again one day.
Joseph is pretty attractive 🤭. Straizo really broke my trust, now I'm not trusting anyone in this show apart from the MCs. Smokey reminds me of Poco. At least Speedwagon lived a good life. What is this mysterious man thing I wonder.
7 years later, there's a tolerance between Jojo and Dio's relationship but tension is strong. The mystery of the mask captures my curiosity.
Naw I thought Dio had style but Dire was the real G. Ngl Straizo is a fine man. Speedwagon just exists for commentary right now. I can't believe Dio is over, we still have 18 episodes this season and more later.
The pee was so unexpected. Zepelli was cool at the end theree, really fit the song roundabout.
They're so dramatic it makes me laugh every time. I'm so happy to see Erina again. I really thought she wouldn't come back.
ICONIC! Ceaser was my favourite character in this show. This is a special show.
Holy moly, that incredible use of the "Awaken" soundtrack in the opening scene… It ULTIMATELY brings LIFE to the action and FORMS a hype train that isn't stopping! We’re in final level territory now, and it’s presented in an intense and absurd way. Sends a ripple down my spine!!
Wahoo, the training arc~ The elegant Lisa Lisa is a serious master who's at odds with the lazy idiot Joseph. The muzzle she puts on him is hilarious AND a smart visual cue for what JoJo needs to learn. CaeJose’s chemistry totally improves here! Mutual suffering builds character❤️
Mama Mia~ Best BroJo has entered the chat! The suave casanova Caesar clashes with the brash JoJo, leading to a top-tier dynamic that never gets boring. The gap in maturity between the two is pretty clear. Also, the iconic poses in this episode are hard to miss and get you hyped!
The fight against Esidisi is brain over brawn. The "crying" scene is peak bizarre YET sends me into chaotic laughter HAHAHA! xD
Caesar and Joseph’s rivalry starts here. It’s peak "buddy-cop" energy with supernatural sun powers. OwO
I love part one SO MUCH. I can't believe people skip it?!
I don't like this Major Stronheim, wish Joseph didn't defend him. Who is this pillar man and why is he kinda innocent, what's his story. Gosh I really need to know. I'm glad that Joseph also seems to be in touch with his feminine side.
JOJO DEAD?!? I swear this show keeps throwing me in loops. Lord I love Erina, she's been there since the very beginning. Dio can't be gone nu-uh biggest fakeouts in the century.
Great first episode. Instantly hooked in on the story. Dio is a menace.
Tonpetty is the least Tibetan name I've ever heard. RIP Zeppeli went out like a king. Hope Poco's sister is okay .
Part 2 was peak the entire way through
I see the chemistry between Speedwagon and Zepelli. Before was so cool, but Pluck took me out LOL.
