A really intense episode that had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I also liked that the Yamato actually took several hits, which made it feel vulnerable instead of overwhelmingly powerful. One thing that confused me, though, was the claim that the Reflective Satellite Cannon was stronger than the Wave Motion Gun, yet it still took multiple shots to seriously damage the Yamato. Even so, it was a really exciting episode overall.

What makes this episode stand out is the spotlight on the engineering and repair crew. Watching them scramble under immense physical pressure to patch the structural damage while the ship coordinates a daring, blind maneuver to break free emphasizes the collaborative effort of the voyage.
