This episode marks the debut of the Wave Motion Gun. As one of the most iconic weapons in anime history, it's an honor to finally see it in its original form. Although the animation technology of the time limits the visual impact of its destructive power, the scene still feels incredibly memorable and lives up to its legendary reputation.

The centerpiece of the episode is the tactical decision to test the true destructive potential of the Wave Motion Gun against a Gamilas outpost. The deliberate, ritualistic countdown and the requirement for the crew to wear protective goggles perfectly build a sense of intense dread.

The beginning felt very mysterious before transitioning into action-packed moments, which was really cool. Toward the end, there are a lot of flashing lights, so it can get pretty annoying.
