It took the Yamato more than 20 episodes to reach the halfway point of its journey, yet it reaches Gamilas in less than two episodes. Most of this episode is dedicated to exposition, which is fine since we haven't learned much about Gamilas until now. However, I do wish they had shown more of the people living there to humanize them a bit. As it is, the planet mostly a doom planet.
