Have to admit, Ive never watched anime this old but Im anticipating the development of the story. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the sheer scale of humanity’s desperation to sink in. While the vintage animation style shows its age with minimal lip flaps, the artistic direction, iconic musical score, and mature narrative tone hold up exceptionally well. It’s a masterful setup that leaves you rooting for humanity's final stand.
