Episode Context

At the three-quarter mark of a four-episode run, this episode carries serious weight. The groundwork laid in Episodes 1 and 2, the True Moon's emergence, the arrival of monsters, and the dynamic between Ryo and Izumi, converges here into what should be the series' most consequential stretch of narrative. Episode 3 almost certainly functions as the dramatic pivot point, setting the stage directly for the finale.
