This ONA is rooted in Chinese mythology from the era of the Yan and Huang Emperors, and the worldbuilding leans into that hard. The tribal politics give it a layered feel where every faction has its own agenda, and Tuoba Ye has to navigate all of it while figuring out what Shennong's inheritance actually means. The action sequences carry that donghua energy — fluid CG work with elemental combat that gets more creative as the stakes rise.

The vibe sits somewhere between Dou Shen Ji's cultivation-era power scaling and the mythological grandeur of New Gods: Yang Jian.
