Unique concept. Feels like a Pacific Rim moment. Slow pace then shifts to fast pace mid episode. Has a sad moment at the end. Watch if you like robots. Skip if you can’t handle the MC’s lack of social skills. It gets annoying.

Imagine if the OG Pacific Rim movie x Gurren Laggan s1 met and have kid, this is probably their kid...

Story at first reminded me of a cry baby MC from hero academia, watched mid half story... things got wacky interesting.

84/100 for me, cause..

Yukio stories should be fleshed out more in the future, theme robot x kaiju is standart.. but added it with survival and gag comedies + MC you can really rooted for [o.o]

This 1st episode is a blend between action and Heartwarming Story. About a man who is having difficulty to socialize but must be a Hero. This is insane and also, very funny, especially the ending! 🤣👍

It started as a generic mecha action style anime, however, halfway through the story, the tone changes abruptly and then it becomes a very interesting chapter.

A great anime everyone should watch, got heart breaking scenes, nice story plot, and robo vs kaijuu! Everyone should give it a try

The art isn’t too heavy, which suits casual mecha fans. Really enjoyed the comedic scenes breaking the serious situation. Kinda curious to see how Tetsuo manages to make friends, considering how extreme his social awkwardness is.

One episode in and you can already feel the bond between Tetsuo and Yukio. The father is a very eccentrically written, but wish they could've explored that deeper. Hopefully in the next episodes, maybe?

The animation is very distinct from what you're used to. But somehow, it works well for this anime. Even the comedic scenes don't feel weird to look at. The narrative of having self-aware robots is thought-provoking too

Woah personally, I don't really like mecha but this was nicely done, especially for a first episode. Great balance of comedic dialogue and dark themes. Ending with that cliffhanger was a nice touch too

The pilot feels different right away, no big hero moment, just things going wrong. Tetsuo’s bond with Yukio hits emotionally, then it’s taken away too soon. Pacing is fast but makes sense. That frozen, empty Earth at the end? That’s the hook, and it’s unexpected.

I'm still reeling from that ending seeing Tetsuo wake up to the frozen Earth after everything it just hit me hard

The dynamic between Tetsuo and Yukio is truly special, making Yukio's sacrifice hit hard. It's so much more than just a piloted machine, you know, it feels like a real friend. Seeing that bond develop was a highlight for me, it makes you root for them even more.

Man, that moment Tetsuo told Yukio he wouldn't let him die, that hit different. You could really feel his loyalty even as a kid and that bond with the robot is everything.

I still can't get over Yukio saving Tetsuo at the end instead of self-destructing. That loyalty just hit different.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the first of thirteen episodes, this premiere serves as the essential prologue that transitions the story from a space-mecha defense scenario into what appears to be a grounded post-apocalyptic survival narrative on a radically transformed Earth. It plants the central mystery—why the planet froze—that will likely drive the entire season forward. Everything that follows builds from Tetsuo's first uncertain steps into this unfamiliar icy wasteland and the emotional wreckage he carries with him.
