Episode Context

As the first of two episodes, this installment carries the full weight of world-building and character establishment for the entire series. There is no prior episode to draw from, everything originates here, including Aiko's backstory, her central motivations, and the historical tensions that drive the conflict. What it sets up feeds directly into Episode 2, which is positioned to deliver on the groundwork laid throughout this opener.
