Didn't expect that the creator of Full Metal Alchemist can create a great slice of life anime. What makes the episode funny are the quirky characters and MC's reaction of the difference of his norm. A good starter episode that is light hearted although it dumped us with a lot of character introductions. P.S. The ED is light hearted and has a relaxing feel.

From the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist comes a highschool farming story lol. WHICH was decently good in my opinion, the manga already ended so I'm just watching this for the sake of animating the manga. Episode one already deliver the great adaptation of Hachiken early life XD

Simple and clean animation, really fits the slice-of-life and comedy vibes. The main character’s name is hilarious—haCHIKEN 😂 This first episode focuses on character introductions, and it’s interesting how they all already have their own goals after graduation.

New environment hits Hachiken immediately—nothing is easy here.
Farm life feels overwhelming but strangely honest. 8.7/10

City boy thrown into farm life and instantly overwhelmed—Hachiken’s reactions feel real and kinda funny at the same time. The setting is fresh and educational without feeling boring. Slight slow intro, but it hooks you with its grounded vibe 🐄

The shift from a high-pressure academic environment to the literal dirt of Ooezo Agricultural High School is a total culture shock. Hachiken’s realization that a "simple" farm life is actually grueling labor is both hilarious and grounded.

EPISODE CONTEXT

As the season premiere of an eleven-episode run, this episode is purely foundational — it establishes Hachiken's displacement from urban comfort into an unfamiliar agricultural world, which serves as the central tension driving his character arc for the entire season. No prior context is needed; everything starts here. Expect subsequent episodes to build on these introductions, deepening Hachiken's relationships with his farming-savvy classmates and challenging his assumptions about purpose and ambition.
