Episode Context

Coming off the high-stakes guerrilla concert in episode 15 where the team faced the Mirage without Kyoya and Soji, episode 16 deliberately downshifts to explore individual character trajectories, particularly Kyoya's bond with Siren and Nagi's growth through training. Positioned at the two-thirds mark of a 24-episode season, this is a clear pivot point that trades ensemble action for personal stakes. It directly sets the stage for episode 17, 'Wishes and Songs Will Be Heard,' where Nagi and μ become trapped in a mysterious labyrinth, making the groundwork laid here essential for what's coming.
