Episode Context

As episode 1 of 24, 'City of Mirage' is pure foundation, it introduces protagonist Minami Kyoya, the world of SI-VIS, and the central tension between music and something darker lurking beneath the surface. The episode directly sets up 'A Thoroughly Eaten Star' (episode 2), where the consequences of this premiere's events begin to escalate and character arcs start taking shape. With a full two-cour run ahead, this opener prioritizes establishing tone and stakes over resolution, positioning itself as the launchpad for a longer narrative build.
