I could see from miles away that something bad was going to happen to Izumi again, but it was really frightening to think about if something like that happened IRL. Izumi is honestly such a good boyfriend. He's thoughtful, supportive, always considers Shikimori’s feelings and somehow seems more confident than she is. He’s also kind, can cook, and his only real flaws are being feeble and unlucky. Easy to see why everyone wants to protect him.
