What an intense episode. Filled with so many emotions and I think it highlights how similar Mahiru and Kuro are- they both have the same fears and regret and I guess that's what makes them the ideal pair.
This episode was really emotionally heavy. I do appreciate the patient pacing here, it lets the painful past simmer which adds more onto that emotional impact. The memory sequences here felt hazy though, it has a unique dreamlike visual quality which is perfect for the tone of this episode. I can really feel all the emotions in this episode, I can feel the weight of the guilt, regret, and reassurance here.
The highlight for this episode is definitely the very touching moment between Kuro and Mahiru. They really learn more about each other from this moment and I can't help but root for them. I love that we also get some great, intense development on the real world side of things as Misono enacts on their plans.
