Felt way heavier than the first. The mine was honestly creepy, especially when you realize those “monsters” were once people. Xylo’s choices don’t feel heroic, just real and painful. It’s slower, but the tension and dark vibe really keep you hooked and wanting more.

A bit slower and not as visually strong as before, but the story really pulls you in. I liked seeing the group come together and how the world views them. The tension is building nicely, and the music adds a lot. Definitely got me excited for more.

Pacing is a bit slower this time and the animation pales in comparison with the debut, but it’s definitely being carried by the story. Seeing the dynamic between Xylo and the Goddess develop is cool. That ED is absolute fire though, it totally saves the vibe!

This second episode of the series introduced almost all the members of the Xylo's group! Tatsuya and Norgalle are two of the best members of the heroes! The lore and pacing of the story are slowly building up the HYPE!!!

The demon blight is proving to be a scary enemy! The team is introduced. Action scenes with Tatsuya are great. Pretty unhinged guy to be honest! Good pacing. I personally find the narcissist goddess very irritating. Glimpse of Xylo's past gave good context.

Good explanation of the new conflict, the pace is a bit slow but it clearly shows how Xylo and the others are seen in this world, and the explanation of the story makes the story more interesting. The background song was very hype and made me craving for more 🔥

Slower pacing, but the lore expansion is excellent. The Blight visuals are grotesque in a way that feels straight out of a nightmare RPG. The score creeps in quietly, layering unease without being overbearing.

Teoritta is so precious, though it is probably just because of her naivety that she trusts the MC wholeheartedly. Their clashing views on justice despite similar original mindsets (Xylo's warped by his experience) definitely shows viewers how the systemic failure changed him.

The side characters PMO but I get that it intends to shed light on real world injustice grown from assumptions. Hopefully characters like Kivia can at least hear Xylo out.

This episode expands on the "duties" and lives of heroes and what the sentence truly means. Despite them being supposedly the worst criminals ever, they really aren't lol. The consequences and risks of losing yourself as a hero are also directly shown. A jarring scene.

Nice bit of lore building here, especially learning more about the state of the sentenced heroes. We also get introduced to more characters. The story feels grounded and realistic so far. Plus, the soundtrack is really good and fits the scenes perfectly.

The pacing is great so far. And I'm really glad for Venetim and Teoritta as their personalities bring a breath of fresh air with a sprinkle of lightheartedness in the midst of all these heavy themes.

The animation and fight scenes are as seamless as ever. And seeing what became of the faeries deep in the mines makes you realize how dark this story could go

Finally we get to see more heroes with their unique skills and personalities. It really opens your eyes about how deep and unfair the justice system goes here.

I did NOT sign up for this level of emotional damage in episode two. This show literally said "you thought the gore was the dark part? no bestie the FEELINGS are the dark part" and I'm already in too deep.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the unit's baptism-by-fire retreat from Couveunge Forest in Episode 1, this episode escalates the stakes by throwing the penal squad into an offensive operation — signaling that the military has no intention of easing them in. As the first half of a two-parter covering the Zewan Gan Tunnels recapture, it establishes the mission parameters and internal conflicts that Episode 3 will pay off. At episode 2 of 12, it's locking in the show's core loop: impossible missions handed to expendable soldiers.
