Episode 10 is a step forward for the series' stakes, but it's undermined by awkward pacing and the show's persistent animation issues. The Shrieking Woods arc has genuine potential—status effects, mind control, and a fallen elite party are all compelling ingredients. If the show can maintain this level of tension through the next episode, it might finally deliver on its premise.

Episode Context

Episode 10 opens as a deceptively lighthearted labyrinth entry. Madoka and Melissa take their first outing together while the party finds small pockets of warmth, including a shared meal that draws in Theresia. That easygoing rhythm does not last. Arihito and Elitia grow suspicious of a vulnerable girl found in an unexpected place, and the episode's real tension takes hold: a confusion-inducing threat, uncertain appearances, and the creeping possibility that other Seekers are already compromised. Character bonding and practical party dynamics carry the first half, establishing emotional stakes that point toward a difficult rescue-oriented confrontation. The result is a setup-heavy installment of the fantasy adventure, careful with its atmosphere, where friendly moments deliberately sharpen the unease that follows. The pacing favors preparation over payoff, but the tonal shift lands.
