📖 SYNOPSIS
Three rivers converge in the mountains of China, and along their banks live the Water Ghost clans — people who can move through water like it's air, read the earth's hidden veins through geomancy, and dive into places no one else would dare. Yi Sa is the last surviving member of the Yi clan, running a sketchy "underwater bank" along the Lancang River, which is basically a salvage-and-treasure operation. During a dangerous dive into something called the Golden Soup — a deadly underwater zone — she pulls out a half-drowned stranger named Zong Hang. He's got secrets, she's got a curse on her bloodline, and the only way either of them gets answers is to go deeper. So Yi Sa starts training him as a Water Ghost, and together with Ding Yu Die from a rival clan, they set off toward the ancient Ancestral Golden Soup, which is exactly as ominous as it sounds. This 18-episode ONA leans hard into its setting — the riverine landscapes are genuinely gorgeous, and ASK Animation Studio clearly put work into making the underwater sequences feel immersive and strange. The geomancy stuff isn't just window dressing either; it's woven into how the characters navigate and survive. If you liked the supernatural clan dynamics in Mo Dao Zu Shi or the atmosphere of Fog Hill of Five Elements, this hits a similar nerve. It's got that blend of old-world mysticism and suspense where every dive could be the last one. Adapted from a web novel, so the lore runs deep.
