The ending felt quite realistic to me. Not everything has to go the way we want. Just like life keeps moving on, I’m happy that all the characters now value themselves. It was truly a relieving ending for me. The animation was also very beautiful.I highly recommend this anime.

This is the finale of this series. Everyone is on their own path, and it seems they are doing great. As it is! The cultural festival is to finish off the season like any other romance anime. I liked this thing about it because it stays true to the structure but also introduces new themes to the main story. The animation and the pace are sweet as it is!

Episode 12 is the most emotionally generous and artistically mature. By refusing to force a resolution, the series honors a profound truth: love isn't about perfect endings—it's about how we carry our experiences forward with honesty, grace, and hope.

Episode Context

The series finale of Kuzu no Honkai delivers exactly what this show has been building toward, not a fairy tale resolution, but an emotionally honest reckoning. The episode is contemplative and deliberately paced, giving Hanabi and Mugi the space to sit with everything they've experienced across twelve episodes of messy, complicated desire. Expect introspection over spectacle. The tone is bittersweet and mature, treating its characters' growth with the same unflinching honesty the series applied to their worst impulses. Themes of acceptance, self-worth, and what it means to move forward after using people and being used dominate the final chapter. Lerche's visual storytelling remains striking, with the watercolor aesthetic lending weight to every quiet moment. This is a conclusion that trusts its audience to appreciate nuance over neat resolution.
