In episode five Sanda is trying to fight his feelings towards Fuyumura, even when he's already engaged to someone else. We keep learning more about this world's setting but it's still unknown if something big happened for Japan to worsen this much.

I totally shipped the Ono-Fuyumuru ship, but I am having a bit of a doubt now, given how the events of the episode went down. That ending was quite something, too. I do relate to Fuyumuru quite a bit, though. Not the crazy part, the questioning identity bit.

It's so funny how Saburou Yagiuda managed to find a way to get closer to Sanda. Niko Kazao seems like such a fun character, I love her playful personality. It's really interesting how this episode focused more about puberty and everyone's struggles from their bodies changing.

What’s happening to Sanda? He can’t transform into Santa. Fuyumura is surprised to see Niko outside the Laundry Shop. Something is happening with her—she seems to be changing.

niko appears and the mood changes quickly. The tension in the school hallway felt real and the way she reacted to the situation was intense

The "Santa hunting" job is so absurd! The new homeroom teacher is literally the hunter hahaha. Sanda suddenly can't transform, which adds crazy tension. Then Ono finally returns, and kisses Fuyumura?! The mystery behind Ono's disappearance just got deeper!

This feels like a breather episode, still has tension but not as impactful. It builds things slowly, just not in a super exciting way. It’s fine overall, just not very memorable. Still okay to watch 😶

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the intense Yagiuda confrontation in Episode 4, this midseason pivot trades external conflict for internal tension, deepening Sanda's characterization at a crucial turning point. The introduction of Niko Kazao adds a new relational dynamic that complicates Sanda's mission-first mentality and his commitment to protecting children. This emotional groundwork directly feeds into Episode 6, 'Cyborg vs. Santa Claus,' where escalating external threats collide with the personal dilemmas seeded here.
