I felt so sad watching Hiromi snap that special pencil; it just felt like her entire childhood and friendship with Kazuko, built on that promise, was totally shattered by Nephrite. It was more than just a broken object, it really drove home how much dark magic can corrupt even the purest bonds, and I hated seeing that.
