Episode Context

Coming off Episode 14's more grounded, character-focused story around Megumi, this episode marks the beginning of the Jinpū Squad filler arc, introducing new adversaries and expanding on Kenshin's history outside the manga's storyline. Still early in the show's 94-episode run, this stretch of filler sits between major canon arcs, offering original material that explores Kenshin's struggle with his identity as a former hitokiri. It sets the stage for further confrontations with figures from his violent past.
