Rock Is a Lady's Modesty
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Until her mom marries a real estate tycoon, Lilisa Suzunomiya is just a regular girl — but that marriage suddenly throws her into the world of elite rich kids. Now she's at Oushin Girls' Academy, where the goal is to become a "Noble Maiden" — basically the pinnacle of grace, culture, and refinement. Lilisa wants that title to prove a commoner can hang with the best of them, so she buries her love for rock music and puts the guitar away for good. That plan lasts right up until she finds Otoha Kurogane, daughter of a big-shot politician, secretly drumming her heart out in an abandoned school building. Naturally, they start a secret band. The whole appeal here is the double life — prim and proper ladies by day, rocking out in hiding by night. The comedy lands because the contrast between their polished facades and their actual personalities is genuinely funny, not just cute. Bandai Namco Pictures puts real effort into the performance scenes too, with animation that actually captures the energy of playing live music rather than just showing instruments moving. If you liked Bocchi the Rock for the music and social anxiety comedy but want something with a bit more of a rebellious edge, this scratches that itch. There's also a Nana-like thread of identity and self-expression running underneath the laughs. And K-On fans will feel at home with the school band dynamic, though the stakes feel a bit higher here. It's 13 episodes, seinen demographic, and a pretty easy watch for a season.
