EPISODE REVIEWS

Watching Rem sacrifice herself or out herself in harms way for Subaru time and time again, it was so heart-wrenching. She really deserves better. I was so shocked when Otto first asked who she was! This story is amazing with its progression.

Episode Context

Sitting at the emotional nadir of the season's second half, Episode 17 follows the devastating failures of 'The Greed of a Pig' and pushes Subaru past every breaking point established so far. This is the darkest hour by design, it serves as the critical setup for Episode 18, 'From Zero,' widely regarded as one of the series' most important turning points. Without enduring this low, the emotional payoff of what follows simply wouldn't land.
