Un gran episodio con desarrollo de Julius que nos regresa a la primera temporada y el paralelismo en su relación con Subaru, que deja un gran impacto emocional con lo que sucede (que logra expresarlo muy bien el actor de voz de Julius y también la banda sonora).

Such a sad, yet hopeful episode. It was a hard watch. My chest couldn’t stop feeling weird from all the anxiety and cringe. Really rooting for the group to get through the obstacles together. They deserve a break, but knowing this series, it won’t happen any time soon.

I like how they deepens the friendship between Subaru n Julius, and the flash back from Julius POV for us to understand him a bit more.

If you came into this episode wanting cool sword fights, Re:Zero definitely delivered.

If you came into this episode wanting emotional character development disguised as cool sword fights, Re:Zero delivered even harder.

The obvious star of the episode is Reid. Every scene he's in reinforces the same idea: this guy is an absolute monster. Not just in terms of strength, but in presence. The moment he shows up, everyone else immediately feels outclassed.

And honestly?

That's exactly what a legendary hero from 400 years ago should feel like.

The fights themselves are fantastic. Julius gets multiple chances to challenge Reid, Emilia gets her turn, and every encounter does a great job showing just how ridiculous the gap between Reid and everyone else really is.

What's interesting, though, is that the episode quickly establishes that brute force probably isn't the answer.

If this were just about defeating Reid in a straight fight, the story would already be over.

Instead, Reid feels more like a puzzle than a boss battle.

He's testing people.

The question isn't "Can you beat Reid?"

It's "Can you figure out what Reid actually wants from you?"

That's a much more interesting challenge.

Emilia's fight was also a lot of fun. One of my favorite recurring things about Emilia is how genuinely innocent she still is despite everything she's been through. Reid's attempts to get under her skin basically fail because she doesn't even process half of what he's saying.

It's such an Emilia moment.

The real emotional core of the episode, however, belongs to Julius.

And wow.

Poor Julius.

Ever since his name was erased, he's been carrying around a burden that nobody else can fully understand. The thing that hurts most isn't losing recognition.

It's knowing that the accomplishments and relationships he values most still exist, but nobody remembers them.

Except him.

His battle against Reid isn't really about winning.

It's about proving something to himself.

That's what makes all those defeats hurt so much.

Julius knows he's outmatched.

He knows he's probably going to lose.

But walking away isn't an option.

And that staircase scene afterward might honestly be the best moment in the episode.

The parallels between Julius and Subaru are impossible to miss. Both have struggled with pride. Both have tried to shoulder impossible burdens by themselves. Both have convinced themselves that suffering alone was somehow noble.

The difference is that Subaru already learned that lesson.

He knows what happens when you try to carry everything by yourself.

So instead of mocking Julius or lecturing him, he simply helps him stand.

It's such a simple scene.

And yet it says so much about how far Subaru has come.

Season 1 Subaru would've never been capable of that level of understanding.

Season 4 Subaru doesn't even hesitate.

Final Verdict: Episode 6 might look like an action episode on the surface, but it's really a story about pride, failure, and accepting help when you need it.

Reid provides the challenge.

Julius provides the heartbreak.

And Subaru provides one of the strongest reminders yet of how much he's grown since the beginning of the series.

Honestly, the sword fights were great.

But it's the staircase scene that I'll remember most.

BATTLE YANG EPIC DARI JULIUS JUGA EMILIA, PEAK voice acting juga dari emilia berasa suara "hu tao" lagi berantem kwkwkwk. tensi yang cukup tinggi dengan msuh yang sangat OP membuat episode kali ini agak desperate buat julius. namun drama antar julius dan subaru cukup berasa walau bahas masalah gendong doang kwkwk

It's insane seeing Julius being suffered twice by fight Reid only with his chopsticks. Reid is too OP here, but didn't expect at all Emilia can be this cute in this episode

In terms of action, I feel like this episode is the best and the most absurd so far. Like bro, that dude was literally using chopsticks against swords and magic, lol.

Honestly, I’d run too if I had to fight someone like that, he was too OP.

The pacing is slower than some fans probably expected after the Watchtower buildup. A lot of the episode is internal conflict and emotional dialogue instead of plot progression

Best episode so far. This episode focuses on Julius and adds a whole new depth to his character. The direction, animation, choreography, and especially the soundtrack were perfect. I also love how Subaru sees his most pathetic self in Julius. Reid is an awesome character too, I love how he doesn’t even fight with a real sword but still treat it like one.

This episode was intense 😰 Reid showing up and overwhelming everyone was terrifying. The fight choreography was stunning. Emilia's confidence this season is so satisfying to watch. Julius's struggle hit different. The way they paralleled him with Subaru was beautifully done. One of the strongest episodes of the season so far 🔥

EPISODE CONTEXT

Picking up directly from Episode 5's cliffhanger inside the Pleiades Watchtower, this episode resolves the standoff with the second-floor examiner through Julius's perspective, deepening the group's understanding of the dangers ahead. At episode 6 of 19, the season is still in its establishing phase — stakes are being calibrated and individual characters are being stress-tested before the larger arc forces demand are made of the full ensemble. What unfolds here sets the emotional and tactical baseline for how the team approaches the tower's remaining trials.
