Episode Context

Coming off episode two's introduction of Ranma into the school setting and his initial clash with Kuno, this episode deepens the Ranma-Kuno rivalry and locks in the core romantic misunderstandings that will fuel dozens of episodes ahead. It's still foundational world-building, establishing character dynamics and comedic patterns at just three episodes into a 161-episode run. The groundwork laid here, particularly around rival introductions and escalating romantic tension, directly sets the stage for the parade of new challengers and love interests that define Ranma ½'s long arc structure.
