Episode Context

Sitting at episode 17 of 161, this installment directly continues a Shampoo-driven conflict from the previous episode where Akane's memory was compromised, escalating the emotional consequences of that encounter. The resolution here feeds into the next episode's exploration of Ranma potentially returning to China to address his curse, marking a stretch of episodes where the show tests its characters' commitments to each other and to Nerima. This is early-series Ranma ½ still establishing its emotional range beyond pure comedy.
